Anyone use their G34 as a carry gun? I know it shoots like a dream (it is a Glock) but any better than a G17?

I carry and have carried a 35. You're GTG with a 34.

I used to carry mine. Now I just use it for competition. Very similar to carrying a full-size 1911.

I also asked this question a while back. I received mixed answers. Best thing to do would go shoot both if you can. I finally got to and the 34 did nothing for me that the 17 could not do. Also it is a heck of a lot harder to find holsters for the 34.

if you can carry a G17, I wouldn't think carrying a G34 would be much more trouble

I like the 34 from a balance perspective in that I find that I shoot it much more accurately. I also tend to CCW using a sholder holster so the 34 works well for me. I have also carried it in a Yaqui style holster which also works well.

Yes. IWB with a C.T.A.C. slide at ~5 o'clock. I have to admit it occasionally has me thinking G26, especially when driving. (G26 will actually fit the same holster) The G34 is a great shooter and I've got over 5K rounds through it with no failures. I trust it and can shoot it straight, that's why I carry it.

Edited to correct poor punctuation.

I carry my 34 all of the time in a galco classic lite shoulder rig. I don't have a 17, but I also really like the balance of the pistol. I hardly notice it at all. Unfortunately, in Ohio, it's strictly a winter gun for me. I carry a 33 when the weather's nice.

sorry to hi-jack the thread, but what do you think is a good price for new and hardly used one?
I have seen:

New: ~$625
Like New: ~$550

The beauty of carrying the 34 is that you can have a 3.5 lb connector in your carry gun. All the legal advice I've ever heard said to not carry anything with a trigger job i.e. not factory. Maybe this is true maybe not.

by the time you draw a gun, much less shoot and kill someone, the trigger on your gun is the least of your worries, plus you can put a 3.5 lb connector on any glock and it is a factory piece, i have a 3.5 lb connector in my G19 carry gun
