How is the felt recoil vs the G-21?. If anyone uses this model for CCW how do you like it?
Link Posted: 12/4/2005 11:53:12 AM EDT
Can't say as I notice a heck of a lot of difference in felt recoil.

My G30 actually shot as well if not a tad better than my 21, go figure.

I've never shot a 21, but my 30 certainly surprised me. It's not near as much as I had expected. Great carry gun IMHO.

10 +1 rnds of .45 in a very compact package! What's not to like

The G30 is a soft shooting 45. I own both the G21 and G30 and find the difference in recoil negligible.

Same here, actually the 30 recoil seems to me to feel a little lighter than my 21. Go figure.

I just wish they made a compact .45 with a rail. I want an M3 light on my vehicle gun, and the 21 is just too big for the space I have in the armrest. The sub-compact 30 fits fine, but doesn't have a rail.

I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do.

Have a good one.

My G30 is my CCW. I love it. I used to carry a 1911. The Glock is lighter and holds 3 more rounds. It's thick as a brick to quote Tull but I buy my pants accordingly. I use a leather IWB holster. If I went with Kydex I would probably save a few mm's.

It's the best CCW in my opinion.

G30 is an excellent CCW. Mine vanishes with an IWB CTAC.
Sometimes I will front pocket it with untucked shirts. Damned fine compact.

You're right about the G30 seeming to recoil less. It's the same as my G37 and G38. The larger slide has more mass and seems to contibute to the recoil.

The new G30's have a light rail!!!!!! I didnt think they could fit one on but they did.

Thanks for the info!

It carries very well and is small and quite concealable. I've been carrying it, but hadn't shot it in the past two or three years. Pulled it out for the first time in just recently and went to the range with it.

I didn't do anything to it prior to shooting it; no cleaning, no lubing, nothing! It was full of lint and pocket dust, so I had my reservations, however it functioned like a champ. I felt even better about it after that.

Anybody have pics actually holding one of these in their hands? Whats the feel like?

The G30 is my CCW of choice. I have 4 glocks total and nothing fits the CCW bill better than my G30. Just had Meprolight Night Sights installed.. It is the foshizzle fo my nizzle...

My G30 is quickly becoming my favorite handgun.

I have and shoot both the G21 & G30. The G30 is a tack driver and the one I choose for CCW.

Are there any other model glocks which have the same feel as the 30? I'm going to be looking around, and just in case a dealer doesn't have a 30 in stock, what else might give the same feel as the 30?

well, never mind, I found a glock 30 at a gander mtn.

Balance feels right and all, but my pinky was getting pinched. Can anything be done to extend the magazine bumper or something?

Just grabbing a Glock in a store seems like its too fat. You need "seat" time.
They take a getting used to. Ya' gotta love the Tennifer finish, rugged,
no nonsense get the job done, non- safe queen asskicker.
Whenever I shoot a 1911 I think, this is WAY too thin for me.
My G30 is my favorite pistol (until I get a G29) and with me whenever I CCW.
I used to be a Glock basher til' I went to this G30 from an HK 45C.
Just buy it!

After looking at BrianNH's pic of the G30, I saw that that one has a different bumper on the mag than the one I handled (it was used). Is the one in the pic the stock magazine bumper, or aftermarket?

The one I handled had a extension on the front like a finger rest. I dunno if that was aftermarket or stock.

Great gun shoots and handles well. Also very accurate we sometimes shoot our 30's at steel 60+ yds with no problem hitting.

It's either a factory, Scherer or Pearce. All three shown here. They all work pretty well; it's just a matter of preference. I prefer the Pearce.

Have a good one!

I love my G30. Great CCW, shoots great, eats everything....oh yeah, 10+1.

My 30 and I had an argument awhile back. It won, but we're back on speaking (shootin') terms now.

Anyone know how to get blood out of A-Grip?...........
