Quoted: I've got another early v1 Poly 80 Spectre 940 that I'm going to build tomorrow. It has been sitting in the box since 2016 waiting for me to get around to it. Finally ordered a LWD lower parts kit. I will have to order a barrel, slide and upper parts kit next. Planning on doing this one in 9x19mm, View Quote Slide came in the mail today so I now have the upper completely assembled except for the sights which haven't been delivered yet. Planning on starting milling out the lower tomorrow. The parts kits came in on Fri. |

Does anyone know what steel is used for the Rock Slide USA slides? The only thing I have found on their website is that they are Cerakoated in whatever color, but curious as to the rest of the stats on the slide steel, coatings and their barrel steel and coatings.

I don't understand why Glock doesn't make them like that to start off with. The added beaver tail makes the biggest difference to me. |

Just got 2 V1 compact kits in the mail. When did they stop coming with the end mills?

No end mills starting this year. Never used them. Use tin snips a file.

Quoted: Does anyone know if the HYVE baseplate will fit a KCI? View Quote I don’t have Hyve baseplates, but I do have KCI mags and factory mags and the basepates are identical. I have a Dawson baseplate on one KCI mag and a couple of factory +2 baseplates on others and they all work fine. |

Just finished this 23c. My first. Taking it out tomorrow for 100 rounds. I definitely learned a few things that I could do differently/better next time. I also didn't find MGB until after I had started, but thankfully I didn't screw anything up. after assembly I noticed the slide was pretty tight so I went back in and removed/cleaned up the channel a little bit and the slide lock spring wasn't fully seated in the front. After those two things were done it was much better. I also racked it about 300 times and used frog lube. I'm pretty happy with it. EDIT: I took it out today and put 135 rounds through it. I had 1 Failure to feed in the first mag, and 2 light strikes in the first 30 rounds. I had a hand full of times where the slide didn't fully seat into battery but it was about 99% of the way there and just took a little offhand thumb nudge to seat. I took it apart cleaned and lubed it, racked it a few more times and then had no more issues. All in all I'm pretty happy with it. It'll continue to be a range only gun until I get a few hundred more rounds through it and feel completely confident with having no issues. I'm also going to diamond bit some burs and imperfections, and green bit polish the channel a little more. EDIT #2: i got it home ran back through it with diamond bit and then polishing bits and mothers polish at the end. I then racked it a few hundred more times just to be thorough. Took it back out for another hundred rounds and it was flawless. At some point I was just able to enjoy it without concern. To say I'm very happy would be an under statement. I have a real sense of accomplishment. |

I need a slide to complete a P80 19 build. Everything else is here and waiting. The frame is cobalt. What is a good color to go with the cobalt color? Bonus internet points for pictures!

Quoted: A couple budget builds The 17 has OEM parts kits on the upper and lower, a Swenson slide and barrel, a set of OEM sights and the Streamlight. This is earmarked to be a HD gun. The 19 has OEM parts kits on the upper and lower, a Thompson Leh CITADEL slide, an OEM gen 4 barrel that was a new take off that I picked up on eBay and a set of AmeriGlo GL-433 Hackathon sights. This will mostly be a range gun. The 17 https://i.postimg.cc/XJxngtBN/IMG-5147-2.jpg The 19 https://i.postimg.cc/5y0bKp8B/IMG-5175-2.jpg View Quote very nice! Have they been broken in yet? Any issues with either thus far? I finished a 23c in coyote last weekend, and have another new 19/23/32 frame in black that I was thinking about what I want to do with or trading for a 17/22 frame. |

View Quote Thank you Me too. 1976 to 1980, Semper fi They have been to the range 2 times along with breaking in another pistol as well as sighting in a rifle and breaking that in as well. About 150 rounds through each. The 19 has run flaw free from the start and other than the front sight loosening/needing to be thread locked/tightened nothing to report. The 17 has had 2 instances of failing to lock the slide to the rear after the last shot with no other malfunctions. Extremely happy. Looking for fast break in and into service. How did the 23c run? Lot of good choices for the 19 frame. Plenty of good ones for a 17 frame as well. Enjoy the build. ETA: I was just looking through the above posts. Our builds have a similar look. Great minds. |

Semper Fi
scroll up from your first post about 6 and there's mine. It had a few minor issues but nothing too bad. It was better than I expected for the first time out and I'm very happy with it so far after about 135 rounds. May go put another 100-200 tomorrow. Be safe and again, nice job! |

Today was the maiden range trip for the CL. No issues besides the ridiculous feature of BTF! Beyond that ran and feels great.
