I had picked up the new gen 5 full size 17 the week they came out and I like it and the updates they did no problems with it at all . I took my gen 4 /17 with me today to the gun shop and looked at the 19/5 they had night sights in on the 19s they had . I like Glock fact N/S but when I saw the new ameriglow fact sights I traded the 17/4 and took the 19 home . I only got to run maybe 100 tonight but it was flawless like the 17

The Gen5 19 is my favorite handgun to date. I'm carrying mine right now.

I have the Desantis black speed scabbard for my Glocks , open top you forget its on . I shot the G17 gen 5 a little better than the gen 5 /19 . I kind off wanted to keep my gen4 because I have spare parts and springs for gen 3 and 4 . I shoot my gen 5 /19 with all mags and some L/E restricted marked mags I had for a while . They worked no problem but I can tell when loading them the springs were weaker .

Congrats, I finally held one the other day and it feels nice but seems heavier than the G4 ? Trigger felt nice, and I really like the new finish, but I'm not in any hurry to buy one LOL, I want to find an ole G2 19 maybe some day I'll get the new one.. they are selling like crazy price I seen was $579 ??????

I was offered 350 at one place for it and the new Gen 5 had no night sights . this store gave me 300 and they had two new gen 5/19 one with fact Glock night and the other had the FBI type night sights I liked the new type sights said I will take it . I know a Glock is a Glock any time I trade at a gun shop its 300 to 350 for your gun . take or leave it . Did not want to ship it out for not much more . I was to Hot to deal . I can shoot the new Gen 5/17 I got a little better , now I have both .

Ouch, $300 for a Gen4 G17. You got took. I hope you kept the other two mags it came with at least.

I kept one mag , I never could get anything for a Glock trade They look at there price new and dock for a used gun . 300 to 350 is a Glock trade in price .

Yea I did, but I did not want to put out the cash price for the new 19 with the night sights . Water over the bridge now . I just had a friend trade a new Sig 320 full size 45 N/S and he got 335 for it , now he could have sold it and got more I know . Once in a while if I hit a new shop and take a trade I do pretty good then once they know you have that sickness they try and give it to ya next time it seems .

Yeah, that's why I don't trade stuff at a dealer. That extra $100 looks better in my pocket.

Congratulations. I have not had a chance to handle one yet but I think I will probably keep my Gen4 19 and get an M&P 9c 2.0 as that is like a Gen 8 with how slow Glock is to update their design.

If you like Glocks, it has all the improvements Glock users have been asking them to make over the past 10 years or so.

I’m still wondering if they will make one with an external safety after the entire P320 shit show with the army.

I see used ones selling for 389 at some places and they are gen 4s . I ran another 100 or so rds of Fed , and Gold Dot no problems .A gun shop seems to only offer about 300,325 for a trade in Glock .
