Who is the go to for you guys? I am going to send my Glock 19 off to get cut for an RMR and get at the very least forward serrations cut as well, maybe bevel cuts to the edge of the slide as well. I also want the slide Cerakoted FDE. I found some places that are offering a new more rugged version of cerakote that intrigues me. Finally I want a quick turn around time. Some of the places I looked at were running 12 to 16 week lead times while I'm sure their work is superb I am impatient. Suggestions?

Right now I am leaning towards Primary Machine but I know nothing about them. http://primarymachine.com/ucc-v1/

L&M Precision is my go to guy!
Awesome work and the fastest turn around time I've seen.
Mill front serrations, Rmr, new dovetail for iron sights in front
of optic and cerakote. Sent slide on 3/23, got it back 4/13...3 weeks!

I have heard good things about the vendor that is here in the Shop AR15.COM. Prices seem pretty good but I don't know about lead time. Unfortunately, I think anywhere you go, you are going to have to wait a few weeks.

I have used DP Custom Works here in NC, and Agency Arms out in California. Both do fantastic work, but both have lead times.

Jagerwerks is highly recommended as well, with short lead times. They may just get my next slide if/when I decide to get it done.

Have used Jagerwerks a few times. Great customer service, fair pricing, fairly quick turnaround at roughly 4 weeks.

Sent my Glock 21 slide into primary machine today, now I wait and see how it goes.

Primary Machines took about 2.5 weeks door to door for my slide I got done last month.

I got their V1 cut. Includes the chamfering, front serrations, cerakote, and light pocket cuts.  They offer a "Basic" cut that is what you are looking for. The Basic cut includes front serrations, chamfering cuts, and cerakote.

Here is my V1 slide work with Magpul FDE. They also cut the slide for my DPP optic.

They have a discounted optic cut if you buy their slide milling as well. $200 for their basic, plus $90 for the optics cut. Their optic cut alone is typically $150. So you could save $60 by buying it together as a package.

I can say from persona experience that Primary Machine stands behind their service. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_5_13/174984_Experience-with-Primary-Machine-installing-RMR-on-my-Glock-slide.html

I read that yesterday and to be honest it is one of the reasons I have decided not to deal with them. I realize they stood behind their work but I would rather not run the risk of dealing with an experience like yours. I have also read here and elsewear that their cerakote work can be hit or miss. That concerns me. One of the primary reasons I am looking really hard at battlewerx is their cerakote offerings.

I just (yesterday) sent off my 17 for forward serrations and cerakote to Brazen Firearms. Cheapest and short quoted turnaround (3-4 weeks) I could find. Everything I found online and from their website looks very promising.

Get with Doug over at ATEI and you will be a happy man. I had him cut into my 30S and love it.

I used Doug at ATEi to do an install of a RMR on my G19 along with a Tenifer recoat of the slide, also suppressor height sights. 100% satisfied with the work. Would use him again in a heartbeat. I used Primary Machine to do a slide mill, cerikote, and sup height sights install on my G34. Used Primary Machine this time because I was going with a DP Pro red dot. Again, 100% satisfied with the work. would also use PM again without thinking twice. On both jobs the slide work was flawless, slide coating ditto. ATEi was a little more price-wise when comparing shops that would do the milling for an RMR. Then again, Doug DOES more work to the slide for correct installation that others take the easy way out and charge less. A person that I know paid some big bucks for a big name RMR slide for his G19. RMR fell off on about the 3rd mag through the gun. Why? Mounting slot was too long and no stabilizing lugs. You get what you pay for.

Speaking of milling a G21, it appears Glock isn't making a 41/30s profile G21.  Does anyone think a G21s could be made that would reliably function?  I'm thinking of milling a 21 down to lighter slide dimensions.

I sent my slide off to be milled by Primary Machine last week. Current turnaround time is quoted at 2 weeks.

Dang man. Lol one persons optic (which was loose in the box) accidentally gets tossed (which we replaced with zero hesitation) out out of thousands of slides and now we're to be avoided? Tough crowd. lol
We have coated literally thousands of slides with zero complaints aside from one customer on here (who for whatever reason never told us he had an issue or we would have happily paid shipping both ways and re coated for free as well as turned it around in a day). We can't address issues that customers don't give us the opportunity to fix. ;)

You guys are harsh on a brother. Lmao

Meh, don't worry about it.

You guy's do a lot of slide work (anybody that spends any amount on time on social media would know this).  Two of my friends had slide work done by you guy's and they turned out great.

Glad to hear it! I'm not in here to get bent out of shape by any means haha. Just want to make it clear that if a customer brings something we goofed up on to our attention we will make it right by whatever means necessary. But we can't fix issues that no one brings to our attention.
Any shop that deals in the volumes we deal in makes boo boos. And any shop that says they don't are flat out lying about it. Lol
The difference is we can accept and admit when we make a mistake and make it right.

They are local to me, I have meet the owner multiple times in his shop, and have a few friends that have had slides done. His attention to detail is impressive. Good to go in my opinion. He will most likely get my next milling project.

I personally designed this in a sketch and sent it off to have it milled and returned in 2.5 weeks. Really impressive work, at a great price...Email me for details. Also check out Loki tactical.... you wont be dissapointed.

There seems to be the idea that milling a slide takes a specialist.  In fact, milling a flat and drilling and tapping a couple holes is easy for any decent machinist.  I had a friend mill my PPQ slide for a Deltapoint Pro.

Instead of sending your slide to a specialist, you may want to see what a local machinist would charge.  In my case, I got it done for free.

I got my slide back from Primary Machine last week. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but it looks fantastic. Great milling and refinishing.
