After a month wait I just got an email from KKM with my tracking number for my 19.5 barrel and comp. woot!

Btw: I took the 19.5 with the silencerco barrel to the range today and it ate everything I fed it. Cheap 115gr pmc, federal 124gr and 147 syntech match training ammo. Groups were pretty damn tight also. Very pleased.

Going to take @AKSU advice and shoot a few more rounds through this until the PMM comp comes in to break it in. Most likely do the same with the KKM barrel as well.

I’ve got the gen 3 KKM, had some issues when shooting WWB 115. Swapped the RSA for a 15#, still occasionally had an issue with the 115s. Now I just shoot 124 WWB through it. Zero issues with that combo.

Sounds like 124gr is the sweet spot with the KKM. Going to have to load up on 124gr... now if I can just find some...

My KKM barrel and comp came in for my 19.5 after about a month wait. Also got the NDZ 13lb spring as well. Can’t wait to take it out this weekend. Just needs a Magwell.

Picked up my 19x today. Did a little switcharoo cause I’m bored. 19x is being sent off to ATEI tomorrow for a pro cut.

That NDZ guide rod + 13lb spring is the sweet spot IMO. Gets a Roland about as reliable as it can be without battering the frame or having return to battery issues.

ETA you should go to all peanut butter FDE. Imo.

I'm thinking about jumping back into the Roland game. While very nice, carrying my G19 with TLR7 appendix in a Tier 1 Agis is a little too bulky and uncomfortable for comfortable, totally print free carry. My girlfriend just bought a G48, and I think I'm going to get one for the appendix deep concealment role. I recall from when I had my G19 set up as a Roland, carrying at 4 o'clock was no problem.

What are the preferred holsters these days? Also, it looks like TBRC is no longer in business. What are the best barrels/comps these days? I will probably go KKM for one, but would like the other to be suppressor compatible, since I intend to eventually buy a pistol can if I decide I like my 22lr can enough.

@lancelot Jagerwerks (sp) did both my 19.4 and 19.5. I've been very happy with the work and turnaround time.

I have a failure to eject every once in awhile with 115 grainers so thought I would try a NDZ 13 # spring. NDZ says the stock Gen. 4 spring is 18 #. Is this true, I thought it was 15#.

For those who have occasional reliability problems with their RS, you may be interested in this article I wrote explaining reliability of compensated pistols in simple layman’s terms:

TL:DR - Use higher power +P/NATO loads to make sure your comped pistol runs like a sewing machine

I’m happy with my KKM setup.

As far as holsters for my Roland I like Phlstr, but I carry mine AIWB.

Yeah, I had them do two G19s a few years ago. When the TLR7 came out I sold my X300 and KKM comp barrel, and set them both up for concealed carry. Always kind of regretted it. One of my TLR7's failed, which caused me to think about the X300 again.

how did it fail on you? i have a TLR light on my M&P but i cant remember which model. ive had it for just about 8 years now without issues. but i still think the x300 is superior in all aspects except size.

It started flickering, a well known problem on early TLR7s. I just need to get around to sending in to customer service. My other one works fine.

Well, I joined the "almost" a Roland special club with this. Gen 3 G19, RMR, KKM barrel/comp/Ameriglo. Lower has the Glock 3.5 minus connector with the Wolfe springs. Battle Werx did the RMR milling and it is tight.

What is missing is the correct light, front serrations and grip work. Kind of doubt I will have the frame work done - living in CA I can not put this on my CCW so this will be a range/desert toy. I screwed up by not getting the serrations done at same time as the RMR. Live and learn.

Tomorrow is Range day. Looking forward to finally taking it out.

I really picked the worst time to start a build, but here is where I'm at so far. KKM + comp is in the mail.

I sat on a Gen 5 MOS slide and watched seven in stock disappear overnight. I really don't want to be without my slide for months while waiting during current lead times for slide milling. I might get an aftermarket slide or just wait until the Gen 5 MOS slides are back in stock.

Also note that it was a Gen 3 (and possibly the 4).

Yea, it's full-blown fauxland with a Gen 5 frame and G45 slide. I just wanted to get as close as possible with a Gen 5. Looks like I'll have to go ZEV though just by limited options and stock.

How do you like the front sight placement on the Agency comp?

Do you get any benefit in sight tracking from having it relatively stationary?

It’s a nice feature to have a longer sight radius when shooting with your irons.
Other then sighting in my irons initially, I don’t really notice. While the front sight doesn’t reciprocate it does move up when the barrel tilts to unload and load.

Good luck finding a G19.3 version. That is the only part/spec missing on mine. I ended up using an Overwatch Precision to complete my Roland Special.
