Put a Nitrided KKM barrel/comp on a ATEI worked up slide and it was doing crazy stuff... basically shooting a group at 25 yards that I'd expected at 10.
Decided to go for broke and push out to 100 yards. Target on left is from a sandbagged 14.5" rifle with 69 gr SMK, large target is ten rounds with 124 gr HST, shot off-hand. About the same accuracy I'd expect from my M92 from the bench Pictures of the guns are up on my Instagram Originally Posted By methical20:

My two S3F/Mayhem Syndicate barrel/comps should be here late this week or early next. They are going thru final QA/QC then shipping!
Will be rebuilding my Faux-land around one of these, as I sold off my KKM setup to pay for one of the setups. Attached File |

I don't even have match ammo to test with it. I use stock all stock springs too and connectors too... only trigger change is the Overwatch Precision trigger. Video + Resulting target The combination of match grade barrel, comp for reduced felt recoil and muzzle flip, and red dot sight puts the Glock 19 into open gun territory... and you can slam something together with bolt on parts in 15 minutes. My Nighthawk 2011 and most competition 2011s are finely tuned and worked over pieces of art that take untold hours of skilled labor and years of experience.... and even then, reliability can be sketchy if your gun and mags are not perfectly clean, and everything is not finely tuned and maintained. With a Roland Special Glock... you just gotta make sure that your Recoil Spring Assembly's strength level is suited for your ammo. 2 Things to Make sure your Roland runs. 1. Make sure the recoil spring assembly is stronger than the striker spring: On an empty gun, pull the trigger, hold the trigger, cycle the slide... make sure the recoil spring assembly is strong enough to get the slide and barrel fully in battery. 2. Make sure that the recoil spring assembly is weak enough to work with the comp and ammo you run. Since the comp is on a tilting barrel browning style pistol, the pulling force of the comp which reduces muzzle flip and recoil can have an affect on reliability. I like to load up a mag with the ammo you're testing, and holding the gun with just your thumb and index finger on the trigger, fire the gun into a berm. This is the absolute worst case scenario for a Glock and "limp wristing". If there are any issues, it'll show up immediately. Haters think compare it to having a spoiler on a Honda Civic. WRONG. It objectively improves performance immensely. Haters say you should just focus on fundamentals. True... but having good skills and a pistol with a higher performance potential is not mutually exclusive. The RS/Fauxland will not give you skill, but it will increase whatever skill you already have KKM just let me know that my shipment of barrels got delayed, another 2 weeks :( |

Can't compare to a milled set up but if you want to be conservative this isn't a bad option. the rear sight was VERY tight like overly tight. I had to whack it in there in there pretty hard...and then i has a set screw lol like it need that? Is there a holster for a MOS Fo-LAND or am I screwed for a holster. I tried using my regular 19 holder with no light and the dawson sights caught the top of the holster. View Quote As for compatibility it depends on your holster really: the Dawson front sights at 0.395" are tall, but not obscenely so like the .495" front sights that you need for Delta Point Pro co-witness. My tenicor and Raven Concealment Phantom works well with the Dawson front sights! On thing with irons on Roland/Fauxland is that folks have been suggesting just sticking with Ameriglos. I love Dawsons and the use of a rear set screw... but a milled RMR sights low enough that I feel the Dawson rear sight is taking up too much valuable, and already limited FOV on the RMR. Might swap out my Dawsons for the Ameriglos. I also did thing comparing RMRs on G19s. The 7.0 MOA dual illuminated RM04 is smaller than the precision oriented 0.100" Dawson Precision front sight, as an FYI. I've also been using the 3.25 and 1.0 Adjustable LED RMRs for best overall accuracy and adaptability... but the RM04 is a good choice for people who want maximum durability and long term functionality. The down side with Dual Illuminated sights from Trijicon is that you can get sight washout when shooting in a dark area towards a well lit area... a very real problem in Urban areas as I've learned from my LE friends who've actually had to pull the trigger. Best to make sure you have a solid iron sight backup with those sights! |

Mine should be here tomorrow. It'll fit my roland special. In other news, I was at the work range last night and really opened up my RS. Rapid fire on multi targets is totally pleasurable with the RS. The KKM comp works so damn well, I cannot recommend it enough. So I have to ask, how does everyone feel concealing a full roland light and all? I mean IWB. Is it worth it and do you find yourself grabbing the gun with less shit on it or do you carry it concealed a lot and find it comfortable?
also, what IWB holsters are being made for the rholand? I'm not leo but I would totally carry one of these OWB if I was one and was allowed to. |

For me the glock 19 is to the ar15 as far as cheap functioning awesome effective pistols/rifles go. Fuggin love my foland dude. Or should I call it stock-land because it is just a mos model with a trijicon and a light. I'm thinking of doing something trigger wise though if it is just a bedside gun? who knows, I shoot stock glock trigger ok so I may just leave it. Yes my dawson rear is white because I had to bang on it so hard to get it to seat. I'm glad I didn't mess up my trijicon in the process. Some serious tight tolerances there dawson I would say maybe a thou too tight. I can attest to the toughness of the trijicon though as I literally had to bust out a decent sized hammer for the dawson rear to fit in so I was bashin it pretty hard. Love bein a merican! View Quote And I have a set of those Dawsons as well... sight pusher tool cost 38$ from amazon, well worth it. Was able to use a small wrench and drive it into place with the tool. SUp guys! I have a consultation with a reputable gunsmith/machinist in 4 days. For a roland job on one of my glocks..
I really kind of want to a fo-land rmr for my g26. Does anyone have any info on these? Are they as reliable as a g19 fo-land or rouhland. otherwise I have a gen 3 g19 I may have them just do a full roland, serrations, trigger etc on that g19. I may have them just get rid of the finger grooves though don't think I want a full stipple. |

View Quote That being said, even the latest RMRs do need to get slightly modified to become 100% reliable, I posted about it a few pages back. The long and short story is that the side contact of the power supply was designed before pistol mounting was a thing, and the extreme shock will shift the battery, resulting in flickering and the sight turning on and off. To fix this, simply bend the side contact so it scrapes the battery. Ta daaaaa, now your RMR is fully shock proof. The RMR is currently a SEVEN year old design. PS: The hardest thing for me, transitioning from irons to red dots, was learning to catch the dot. High level shooters (A class and above in USPSA) don't have this problem, but it took me a month of practice and 1000 rounds to get it... same for pistol mater Ken Hackathorn haha. 24 time USPSA national champ Rob Leatham discusses how to transition to red dots here and it's very useful info. You can find those same training techniques... in the excellent "Practical Shooting: Beyond Fundamentals" by Leatham's peer, Brian Enos, published originally in 1990. Leatham, Enos, and Barnhart cracked the code on pistol shooting in the late 80s and nothing's gotten better. These are the guys that trained SOF and passed on the knowledge of amazing shooting haha. |
