If possible I'd like to carry an extra mag or two but not have to have them inside my belt. I don't mind the weight, but I'd rather have my belt free.

These would usually be full-size .45 or 10mm mags with 200+gr bullets (but I'd be happy to know solutions for smaller mags as well).

Thanks!

I use this from https://sav-tac.com/products/pocket-clip-mag-carrier when I carry a 10rd WC47T magazine, and prefer https://www.snagmag.com/snagmag-concealed-magazine-holster/ for 7 and 8rd 1911 mags.

My front pants pocket works well when the weather doesn't require the wearing of gloves. I carry full size 1911s.

I just carry OWB.  I find the weight on the opposite side of the gun makes the whole rig more comfortable.

Front pocket in a homemade holder.

Holder keeps it vertical and clean

I carry two mags in a mag pouch in my left rear pocket.  It works pretty well.  I use it with both Glock 17 mags and Glock 43 mags depending on what I'm carrying at the time.

Front pocket with one of these, I left a full review on amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/Sticky-Holsters-Super-Pouch-Black/product-reviews/B00KBZJ8J8/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_btm?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=all_reviews&sortBy=recent#R3G23LRE0JIAVZ

Of course if the double is too big, get the single. Same concept, keeps the mag from flopping around, eliminates sharp corners, etc. FYI, I had the pocket clip 'snag mag' and it was quite annoying, not a fan of it... Also the soft pouches help to prevent hard plastic/clips/metal from rubbing on clothing and putting holes in pockets or fraying fabric.

Again, looser fitting jeans/shorts is ideal to carry in pocket. If you wear tight and small pocket styles, this might print really bad... For me it looks like a cell phone or wallet, if noticeable at all....

I’m kind of liking that. Need something for my Shield. I’m back to wearing a puffy vest and have just been putting my eight round mag in the vest pocket.

Horizontal mag carrier are very comfortable. I use safariland 123 horizontal mag pouch. It fits most of my magazines. It conceal the magazine enough to open carry if needed. For outdoor hiking i use nc star horizontal mag pouch. The buckle provide a securer lock.

I currently use a Snagmag.  But I want to get a horizontal mag holster like this:

I’m not really sure when carrying mags IWB became “a thing,” but it seems like it’s only been in the last five years or so that IWB mag carriers really started to show up. It seems like some people think that because their holster is IWB, they need mag carriers to match. Magazines are much smaller and easier to conceal than a pistol, so unless you’re going for some kind of deep concealment with your shirt tucked in, I wouldn’t feel compelled to carry your mags that way.

A good quality mag carrier like a Milt Sparks S-4C or D-4C is both comfortable and contoured for easy concealment. I use them regardless of what kind of holster I’m wearing.

Left front pants pocket.  I keep my wallet there and a mag can ride up against the left side of it.  It keeps it vertical.  Obviously upside down.  I like the idea someone had of having it inside something in your pocket though.  To keep crap out of it.

Horizontal mag pouch just to the strong side of belt buckle.   Deep concealment I ankle carry spare mags when I'm shirt tucked in long pants with a an ankle carry primary and a pocket carry BUG.

Another Neomag fan.

I was leery at first, especially for the $, but I bought one on a whim and really like it.

I use the change pocket on my jeans.  Not the best concealment, but most people will never know what the thing sticking out of your pocket is.

Anyone concerned with lint from the pocket clogging the magazine? What is the best way to overcome that?
