"Gearhead Works Mod 1 brace, KGB, LLC Stinger47 strut, StormWerkz hinge SFM-UNI-01 and AK pistol adapter SA-PAK-01 " So running total for that setup is $300+ sticking off the back of the gun? How do you like that stinger47 strut? I saw some people asking about them recently but there aren't many reviews besides some blog and articles from writens who haven't ever tried one. |

I'd already have an AK with a brace, however trying to figure out what brace would work with any one of a number of AK pistols is extraordinarily unclear. I asked the question in this thread and there apparently is no one answer. Milled, stamped, Polish, Hungarian, Arsenal, DDI, which comes with what trunion, which doesn't"t, which is essentially plug and play versus drilling and tapping, etc. Already have SBR's and looking for both an AR and an AK pistol with braces. The AR route couldn't be easier. The AK route, not so much. View Quote You aren’t going to find a brace that works with every AK pistol. |

View Quote I like the Stinger but it is a little bit long for me, I am not the biggest guy and with a plate carrier it is a little weight forward feeling. Just shooting with a shirt or light jacket and it feels ok. It is comfortable as far as the feel on the face, wasn't sure how it was going to be before I got it. Probably one of the more solid brace combo I have used. |

The problem is that AK pistols use non-standard parts, the rear trunnion isn't easily swapped like a receiver extension is, and most were never made to have something mounted there. You aren't going to find a brace that works with every AK pistol. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Seems like a fairly important qualifier if one is in the market for both an AK pistol and a brace, and as this threads title would indicate, AK braces are far from being created equal. |

If you aren't using that hinge you took off (SFM-AR-01), I'm looking for a used one to tinker with. Let me know if you want to get rid of it. :D |

I bolted a picatinny rail to the back of my pistol. You can use MPX stocks.

Just ordered a Romanian Draco. As soon as it was ordered I ordered an SBA3, Stormwerks folding unit and Stormwerkz trunion block that will keep me from having to thread the trunion. You simply drill two holes, put the block into the rear of the receiver, and put the screws through the folder, through the holes you drilled into the receiver, and into the block and tighten.
From what I've seen, most AK pistols are either flat in the back or slightly angled, and Stormwerkz sells a wedge that you use on those that are angled to make the flat and not put your brace at an odd angle. |

The SBA4 was showed off at shot show. It's adjustable like the sba3 but it's triangle shaped like a SOB brace or Magpul stock.

I'll pass. I'm sure it works, just doesn't look like it belongs on an AK IMO. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

The issue for a lot of people seems to be they want a non AR tube based brace that looks like it belongs on an AK.
The PSA one if it ever comes out looks closest to that. |
|
Has anyone tried mounting the SBevo Pdw brace to an AK yet?
I'm thinking about milling the manticore mount down and fitting it to a PM90. |

I just picked up one of these from PSA. Apparently their triangle brace will easily swap out with the current brace, which should kinda complete the Krink look......I hope. https://news.guns.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Palmetto.State_.Armory.announces.AK_.P.9mm.Kalash.pattern.braced.pistol.VIDEO1_.jpg View Quote |

I thought with a flat back you would be able to skip the pistol adapter. |
