I corrected my post.
Pirate has a great concept using a forum on the thier website to follow your build along the way and to keep you informed on its progress.
I saw a 16" barrel gun he was building w/o the tripod attached. Compact and had a nice balance to it. The rails and the M-60 FH  on the Wise-Lite give the RPD a nice evil look.

I just sent this to Jorge and Stan at Project Guns. They are going to try to use this NIW M249 MK46 Mod 1 Front Hand Guard on my 16" RPD with an M60 Flash Hider. I am also going to go with an M249 Nut Sack Hanger.

Hudson: Is this gonna be a standup fight, sir, or another bughunt?
Gorman: All we know is that there's still no contact with the colony, and that a xenomorph may be involved.
Frost: Excuse me sir, a-a what?
Gorman: A xenomorph.
Hicks: It's a bughunt.

It's a Vector barreled receiver with a registered postie BC conversion.

I like RPD's so well I'm in the process of building a semi on a WLA receiver right now

Nice RPD.

I got to shoot one of Project's Guns Bren in 7.62x54r recently with Stan. It ran like a clock and the ammo is inexpensive.

His reweld skills on any receiver he reconstructs are amazing. Your can't find his welds on a finished gun. A true craftsman in restoration of some great weapons.

thank you! I got it from Maine Military, they hooked me up quite well. Got a very good price on a VERY well made rifle. Vector is amazing...    every mating surface inside the receiver has been polished smooth before parkerizing. Nothing like the wise lite M53 I just bought...

Now I have my eyes open for a PKM

Those look really great.  I have one on order from project guns.  Trying to decide if I should go the traditional route or get the 16" with M60 flash suppressor and nutsack...

Here are the ones I like. Top one is a Vector receiver. Bottom one and all other pics are DSA receivers which make nice original stock builds.

I also own an Egyptian RPD that I do not have the pics up yet. Steve

I like your angled forgrip idea. I noticed with the rpd drums, reaching around can be a little trouble some and I'm 6' 3". Does the saw bag stay any farther out of the way? Kinda looks like it sticks out more than the drum.

I have the same setup on my Krink so the magazine doesn't hit the forward grip.  It works perfect on the RPD even with the SAW bags.  I think its the perfect setup.

ETA:
Wise Lite Arms 1960 Polish build with chrome lined barrel
I'm pleased with the rifle, have only run forty rounds through it so far, but no issues.
I wish they included a manual/cleaning kit. That's basic stuff and I was disappointed to find it came without them.
If anybody reading this has a manual in English that you can share, please IM me!
$22 for a fullauto RPD manual in English from German Gun Manuals is my other option.
