The wait is finally over; ALG Defense has begun shipping preorders for our AK47 and AK74 variant platforms trigger, The ALG Defense AKT. The AKT features ALG Defense’s Lightning Bow which features a unique ergonomic profile, allowing the shooter to take advantage of all of the benefits of both curved and flat trigger bows. The AKT is machined from triple alloy steel, coated in a Manganese Phosphate finish to eliminate the threat of corrosion, and comes at a price that can’t be beat. ALG Defense is proud to bring the AKT from our home in North Wales, PA to yours. Please call the shop to place your preorder of the AKT and AKT-E.

Are these going to ever be offered in double hook? I would have thought the hammer would have been polished, is the coating still smooth after use and the finish starts to wear?

Any reason the AKT is better than the tapco ? I know the feel may be different but the underlying mechanism is the same.
Is it completely milled from bar stock or is it a milled casting or injection molded? The curves on the edges look casted. Also is it surface hardened or is the complete piece hardened ?

Pretty sure you guys are not going to get your specific technical questions answered in here, my question went completely overlooked. Im pretty sure "italianprincess" does not know technical specifics of this tirgger, and is just a rep replying with portions of the marketing description for it
So preorders should start shipping now then?

No real information here. Just taking up space as an ALG advertisement. In any case I don't need a lighter trigger as the tapco is pretty light already. For $30 more I can get a milled power custom trigger and adjust it to the way I want. |

The AKT allows for a short pull and short reset with a reduced overtravel. We are releasing an instructional video early next week were Bill explains the ins and outs of the AK trigger. Thank you! |

View Quote Hi Sublimeon24s, The AKT will only be offered in a single hook. However, the single hook is wider to help with wear. We are releasing a video early next week where Bill explains the AKT in detail. Thank you |

Ok on closeup it looks casted like the tapco. I hope its not injection molded like the Arsenals. I also hope it's not just surface hardened. The pics on the ALG site also shows two small bushings but not sure where they go. Maybe in the disconnect spring or back of the trigger.
I also hope it will it work with the Nodak NDS3 economy receivers without mods to avoid the hammer follow problems. Will await video I will eventually get one but hope it's not too light. |

I'm pretty happy with the Tapco trigger that came with my WASR but I was actually kinda stoked that ALG is making an AK trigger. Installed my first ALG trigger in one of my ARs (a QMS, their cheapest one) and it's the best single stage trigger I have. But I'll wait til I see some solid feedback from others who have replaced their G2s with an ALG.

I got my contest AKT this morning. Installed it and have been dry firing it all evening....it's *amazing*.
The AK has never had an upgrade like this to really make the platform 'better'- count on the people at geissele/ALG to take the AK platform to the next level. The trigger has a little bit of softness to it and it's obviously not a 'carrot' break like the two-stage trigger geissele is known for, but its a HUGE step up from a basic tapco G2 or other basic commie trigger group. I would say the pull is less than a stock AR-15 trigger, about 3.5-4lbs or pull and is VERY smoothe...no grit at all. The reset is very short with virtually no overtravel and the pre-travel is also greatly improved. Just like their AR triggers, this is one of the best upgrades you can make to your AK... |
Installed mine too a little awhile ago and have been messing with it. Thanks ALG for the package! Awesome box of goodies!

I got mine today, I have to say that is one scary trigger. You hardly feel when it breaks, no over travel, pre travel is very short and the bow shape feels nice. Very happy with the trigger. The only fitting that needs to be done is the pin for the safety. I used a screw driver and an adjustable wrench. Took it to just there and safety works nice and tight. Even though is a single hook it has double the contact area than any other ak trigger and the release feels smooth like it has been polished. The only thing I would polish would be the reset. On mine, I get a little sand paper feel, nothing a good stome wont take care of but also nothing that would bother me if I left alone. I can't wait to head out to the range on Sunday and give it a go.

Hi ChaZ,
The AKT-E will be a single stage crisp trigger with a shorter reset than the AKT. |
