Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - AK-74 Russian Plum identification help

I have a plum upper hand guard which is marked "1-2" inside.  This makes me think it's US made, but it's not marked US anywhere.  It came with a Russian (or Bulgarian?) plum furniture set I purchased, and it matches the set... very banged up and dark plum.  Could it be Bulgarian?
