I'm sorry to ask so many questions but how am I suppose to learn nothin, if'n I don't? Is there a Galil book that I can buy?

So what's the forum's views on conversions as shooters, not collectors and how much should one pay for such a thing? Are they worth 50% of the real Galil model they've been converted to or what? Thank you all for being patient. All these questions and answers will lead to a purchase, I promise.

Most "built" guns that are used sell in the $1000 - $1500 range.

New ORF sell in the MSRP of $1700 - $2000 range, have seen a few go for as low as $1500 OTD.

Used pre 89 Factory Galils start in the $2000 range and go up from there.

I don't think that ORF has any left, i could be wrong but that's what I read.

I think you're right, and from Todd's last post none are scheduled for the future.
It looks like the parts have dried up. Unless someone starts making parts domestically, there may not be anymore Galils produced.

The one thing I would ask about is whether it has been modified to take M14 mags, or if it will still take regualr Galil .308 mags.

308 Galil's will take modified M14 mags, not the other way around.

308 Galil will take Galil mags and/or a modified M14 mag. No changes to the rifle are needed.
