What do the white stripes on the side of the 12rd 223Rem and 308Win magazines that CDNN is selling signify?

They are for grenade launching cartridges only......local dealer got stuck with a few.

That makes sense, but something is not adding up. I have a 12rd 223Rem magazine that came with my Galil and one of the white striped 12rd 223Rem magazines that a friend got for me. Thinking something might be different internally, I took both of them apart. They are almost exactly identical. All numbers on the magazine body are the same, the welds are in the exact same places, everything is the same except the floor plate on the magazine that came with my Galil is glossy black while the floor plate on the white striped magazine is flat black. What would be different about a grenade launching magazine? Perhaps they are the same functionally, but the white stripe is useful in the field to show soldiers which cartridges are loaded in which magazines.

Blanks are shorter than ball ammo so the blank mags have the spacer st the front. Take out the spacer and they work fine with regular ammo.

I did a bunch of them in 223 and 308, poped out the spot weld on the spacer, I replaced the followers with AR and M14 followers and they looked real pretty with the stripe painted over. That was in the High Dollar Clinton oppertunity days.
