Just got a new M70 Underfolder - a Century gun.  I like thr parkerization but not as much as a black finish.  I have some Gun Kote (black) left over from another project.  I suppose that I can simply coat over the paerkerization - which was pretty well done.  BUT... The folding stock and grenade sight make it hard to do - anyone done this?  Do you have to detail strip the folding stock and grenade sight?

(I may also go to Duracoat - I don't have to use our oven)...

Thanks.

Yup - did my Yugo build this way.

The Grenade Site WILL come off - but you will probably need to fabricate a tool for it... some steel flat, cut out the center, leave two "pins" (what I did).

I had a FIXED stock... if I had a folder?  I would shoot it with GK, cure the gun, then move the stock & re-shoot it.  More work, but that gun will be COVERED.  Only shoot & cure the individual parts if you can install the folder without pounding or smasshing rivets.

Trotsky:  Thanks.

I MIGHT be able to use a split-ring wrench...

I may try Duracoat - no real baking - I would have to use the oven for the Gun-Kote (which I have).
