I see AKS-74U's with reddish/orange bakelights, orangish/red furniture....

Then I see those 5.45x39 Tula plum mags, and dark plum pistol grips....

What are the differences?

I did a few searches. Can't find em. Don't know if it was covered before.

Is it an age thing?

So.......

actual AKS-74U looks like this?

not this?

I think I got it. That is an AKM pistol grip?

Now what about the 2 types of Tula mags? Plum Tula 30rd, and bakelite 30rd Tula's.

Mix of both would be realistic?

The guns actually came with shiny plum mags.. But once the crate has been opened and they have been issued out, all bets are off.

Not sure actually. Tula didnt start production of the AKS74U until 1982.. Prior to that was Izhmash. Not exactly sure what Tula was doing between the end of AKM production in 1977 and AKSU74 production in 1982. Not building AK74s, thats for sure..

Again, once they are issued out, it doesnt matter..When you go check out your weapon from the Arms room, do you grab all Colt mags, or do you grab the newest lookng ones?
