Alright, all the lurking over here on the AK side got me!! I went to the gun show this past weekend and a SAR-1 ser#45XXX-2001 called out to me. It was as new, perfect condition, no dings/mars or such, sling and cleaning kit, 40 round steel mag, no box, $310 out the door.I had to buy it. I also picked up a Bulgy 30rd. waffle mag for $15.How did I do?

You will love that rifle. Buy ammo in mass quantities. Get a good Rice Paddy Prone.

Way to go!! Wolf ammo is the way to go, very cheap. The best mags are the waffles, but really any military steel mags are good, I have my 40rder reserved for bumpfiring only. Enjoy, go piss off some liberals!

Campy, finally got around to ringing out the SAR-1. I picked up some Wolf ammo and headed to the range. The gun shot a 10 shot group at 100 yards of 5.5", using the iron sights. It worked flawlesly. I am happy with it. Is that about what to expect for a iron 100 yard group size with Wolf? Jeff

Ballpark yes. See the ammo test tacked in the ammo forum. 4moa scoped/rested is good for a SAR1, so you did fine.
