Can I change barrels/calibers in a WASR?  Do the other parts stay the same?  I have enough Combloc 7.62's already.  Thanks for any help or opinions on this.

fuggeddabouddit!

a calibre swap is not cost effective nor is your 7.62 receiver set up for 5.45 magazines.

parts that need to be swapped out include the pipe, bolt, carrier and rear sight.

you are better off buying a 5.45 rifle (cur-2, wum-2, romak-992 or sar-2) on the cheap or selling your 7.62 ak and buying an ak-74 variant.

my advice is to save some money and just add one more rifle to the stable.

Thanks, Campy.  That's what I needed to know.  I've got a couple of the SAR-2's already.  I had picked up a couple of the cheap lo-caps from Lois at Centerfire and hadn't done any of the conversion on them yet.  Just thought if it was a tube change and mag adaptation, that wouldn't be bad.  Let's hope some more 74 kits show up.  CampyBob- are you going to the Medina show this weekend?
