Guys...
check out the "fix" for the 22mm FSB!....too freakin kewl! Thanks for the link! |
|
Send lawyers guns and money....the shit has hit the fan..
|
Great page, great idea.
Just a thought or two, though. Why don't you turn around the brake adapter so that the smooth part is against the front sight, like the original? You could push it up against the front sight post that way, and even weld it, making it very similar to the original item. The link from page two to page three did not show up for me. Oh yeah, brake is spelled 'b-r-a-k-e'. Great idea, great page. |
|
|
Because it was geared towards simple tools...I have talked to multiple machinest about the welding idea and they gave me a list of problems that would arise... Some Problems include: 1. FSB would be very hard to remove with piece welded because the adapter would have to be a tight fit or the brake would be off... 2. Heat temps nessary for welding may affect the FSBs finish and heat treated propertys of the FSB and barrel 3. If you screw up there is a chance you can ruin your FSB
Works fine for me and several other people I asked...
Already fixed....Nosegunner came up with those two diagrams and realized the mistake soon after I posted them... |

I agree...Great site. Thanks for the hard work.
I bought an SAR-1 Sat. and spent much of that evening pouring over your site. |
|
Tom (Selleck): Let's just say that I disagree with you but I think you're being stupid.
|
Thanks for a great site. Bought my SAR1 and thanks to your site had it stripped and was in the process of cleaning and refinishing the furniture that night (till 1am). LOL. Excellent Job.

Very informative site Linx310. I've been thinking about getting a SAR-1 lately and found your site to be excellent

That page is awesome. I just got my SAR-1 last Friday, and you've got more info on this site than any other site i've seen. Great job!
p.s., i noticed the link to the sar-1 manual changed to: http://guns.wolfcrews.com/ak47/pdf_files/sar1c.pdf hotlink: guns.wolfcrews.com/ak47/pdf_files/sar1c.pdf |

I have a SAR 1 that has different markings than what you describe in your site. It states on the left side of the receiver ... S1 30505-2000. Under that it says.... SAR1 7.62x39. On the right side it's stamped.... Made by SN Romarm SA/CUGIR in Romania Imported CAI St. Alb, VT
According to your database it should be a .223 caliber SAR 3 if this stamping on the right side of the gun is correct. Can anyone clear any of this up for me? |

THANK YOU!!!!! This is exactly what I needed! Your site is AWESOME!

|

Fantastic
You just cut my learing curve by months. Thanks much!!! |
|

Well, My parents always taught me to be polite. So for saving me time, money and aggravation on a new wasr-10 thank-you. Your site, within 2 days, has probably saved me about $50 and tons of aggravation. Again thanks.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the work on the website. I used several of your tutorials this past weekend to turn my ugly duckling WASR 10 into a pretty slick looking/shooting AK.

Thanks linx I was able to in replace fire control group. No problem.

just an FYI, the bump fireing videos are not working. Just the animated gif works but is in slow-mo. But no big deal, I don't bump fire anyway, but I do enjoy watching other do it.
My piece of cake is shooting competition and also shooting the scarecrow targets. I get the two pounders and mix them, then place em in custom size containers. Love the positive report and fireball from em. |

Great web site. I am new the to AK and was wantig to know which i should get. I posted here and this site several times asking about them but I did'nt get all questions answered or was more cornfused after reading thier responses. So let me ask you a question if you would be so kind to answer it. I want a good AK that is cheap but is just as reliable as all the others. Iknow that you get what you pay for but I have a AR-15 and the money to shoot it like I want to gets expensive, thats why I want an AK to shoot cheap ammo through it and not worry about it if I blow it up because I could just go out and buy a new one. The AK that I have been looking at is the one for $399.00 and is all black with plastic furnature on it that ohio rapid fire sells. Is this a god AK it looks cool and it is in my price range. I have heard alot of good things about Todd at ORF and was also wndering if I was to buy one of these guns from him I would assume that I wouldnt have to worry about the gun being canted because he wouldnt sell it if it was (right?). So if you have time (or anyone else) please giveme some feed back about this AK and tell me what you think, thanks.

Linx you just saved my bacon (again). I use your site for AK info often.
Thanks again. This time it was a Shepard Hook fiasco. |

Hey, your site is very well done and quite informative!
I am an AR man, but a buddy and I are discussing a potential swap, his SAR-1 for my SKS-M. In five minutes on your site, I've determined that the rifle a) has no "cant", b) is of better quality because it was made in 2002, and c) is worth about the same as the SKS-M (which I also know nothing about). The ONLY thing missing, and yes, it's a newbie item indeed... Is whether the receiver is stamped or milled, and what the thickness is. Just a suggestion, not a question, and if it's entirely too newb-stupid to add, then that's OK too. I'm going to go spend some more time on your site, and tomorrow morning, my son and I will go shoot the AK and the SKS to see which one we like better. Thanks again for the effort! |

I just picked up a SAR1 and spent a few Hours on Your Site .
Great Info THanks |

I also wanted to say it's a well put-together and informative website. I went looking for information on PSL's but stayed to read many of the articles. Kudos on the fine job.

I learned something new today about my SAR1, other than canted sights hose
Forgot to add that my hammer is somewhat beaten up, like its too soft, maybe its another flaw of the pre '01's |

First nice website. I think you may have missed a new model. Inter Ordnance is putting out a damn near identical copy of East Germany's Wieger STG 940. They are making it in two calibers the 223 (nato) and 7.62x39. The major components of the rifle are Romanian. That's why i posted. They claim to have installed Tapco triggers and they say the barrels are hammer forged and have chromed chambers and bores. Guns & Ammo did a test and said it was the most accurate AK they have fired. They were able to get 1.5 inch groups at 100 yards. The stocks and forearms are different and the gas tube system is different. Has a scope mount on left side of receiver. Has an M16 type flash hider, no bayonet lug. Here are two articles you can read about it.

Great site, I stumbled upon it a couple years ago.

This is a great, and informative site. It would be even better if there was some Romy G information, markings, etc on there as well.
|
|
|
Will you be including info on the WASR22's?
|
|
|
Great site linx!! THANK YOU!!....S |
|
|
Excellent info, wish I had that before I sent my NEW Wasr back. Keep it up
|

A great site. I just got my first ak a few weeks ago. A new bookmark for sure.
I couldn't find my model though. Mine is a 10/63, and I'm not really sure when one of the models listed it would fall under. I probably just missed it. |

Hey all,
New to AK's and new to these AK Forums. SERIOUS props go out to linx310 for his AMAZING Romanian site! So much great info crammed into an easy-to-use site. There is no way on earth I could have learned so much about my AK in so little time. I've already ordered the Red Star Adjustable FCG (and by the way, OUTSTANDING company, the shipping was ridiculous fast!!) and am about to drop it in (I have shepards crook #3 in my WASR, linx...there's no WAY I'd do this without your instructions!!). Anyhow, thanks again linx310 for your incredible site, and thanks to all of you for your help, wisdom, and guidance on what seems to be absolutely everything AK, seems there's at least a dozen experts on every tiny facet of this rifle. And thanks to the mods here, a forum this huge is sure to be a nightmare to moderate. When perusing this forum it's clear that it's a no BS forum, no catfights, no ego battles, just good solid info and discusssion. That's undoubtedly due to great participants, but the mods too often get overlooked and don't get any credit when it comes to "keeping the peace" and keeping forums on track. Eternal thanks to all, so glad to be here! G |
