replace both the lower and upper handguards with the first link or just the upper handguard with the second link? Links are provided for the limited purpose of showing the different looks of the handguards. I may go with different manufacturers, but am interested both of those styles.

Here's a question I just thought of, why do the handguards have those vents on the side? I would think it would be better to have them up top or have the entire top be open to the air, wouldn't it? or am I missing something? I always find that with the handguard as it is, my fingers are always either covering the vent holes or fingertips are slipping inside the vent holes and touching the hot metal within.
