I have two SLR-101 Arsenal AKs. In one of the AKs all my mags lock right into the mag well, the other AK allows some to lock in, but others just will not get above the mag catch and lock into position. (I suspect this is why I got a good deal on the rifle and it only came with one chinese magazine)

My question is if it is ok to just file off some of the top of the mag catch to allow all the mags to fit into the problem AK? Would this induce too much slop for the other mags that work just fine? I really didn't want to end up marking mags that work with one rifle and not the other.

Any experiance on this matter is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the advice RS39. I'll strip the rifle down and then diagnose it from there.
