Will the German steel .223 magazines operate in an Arsenal SA M5?

Thanks

Not unless you slightly modify the mag lockup.

Get Bulgarian Poly 223s, at auction, for about $35 each. It's the accepted hidden cost of SAM5 ownership.

The clear Bulgy mags that are being sold right now are being discussed on a few boards for their durability. Has anyone ever had one fail?

Thanks,

K-VAR says of the thousands of clear mags they've sold, none have been returned, they also state the clear mags are current Bulgarian mil spec.

I read on one board about cracks developing after a few months for a couple of guys. The clear mags are still relatively new. Obviously it's an issue of having the latest thing. My question would be,"Are they being used in combat with success if not no thanks!"

Well they are full of shit. I know one person who has returned them for cracks and I had 4 crack on me after 9-10 months of being fully loaded.

Get cheap ass 74 mags and Robar Arms 5.56 followers. Dremel the shoulder slightly on the mag lips and you can have 5.56 mags for less than $10 a pop.
