Kinda explained it in the title. I want a quality AK with all wood furniture but I am having a really hard time finding one that is interchangeable folding-fixed wood.

Any help is appreciated in advance. -First time buyer so I do not know very much about the AK platform but have narrowed it down to Arsenal but seems the
downside is I can't find anything about changing the folding to a fixed wood so I'm guessing there is no way to do this?

Sell it and get another rifle with wood.

I said I never bought anything, I am asking what Ak allows for wood furniture but is really good quality any arsenal rifles that allow this or what?

Honestly,  that might be a waste of time. Just buy a different rifle. Find a saiga conversion or a wasr or an sgl model.

The best you can do is replace the handguards with wood. Traditional AK with wood stock has a complete different design compared with your rifle. You can have one fabricated i suppose, but it will look weird. Most people buy the fixed stock variants and put aftermarket folding stocks...but not the other way around.

If you are really stuck with Arsenal, look for the SA-M7 classic. Its the only Arsenal built rifle with wood. Unfortunately, they havent been ij the market for quite some time.

There really is no practical way to do change a folding stock to a fixed wooden stock without replacing the entire rear trunnion. The receiver will be cut at the wrong angle for a fixed stock and even after you rivet the fixed trunnion in place you will see a gap in the wood stock and the receiver.

Either search Gunbroker/forum marketplaces for fixed stock Russian SGL models or convert a Saiga. Also an option is finding earlier imports like Maadi's, SAR-1, Chinese 56s if you have the money, Chinese MAK-90, etc. It would all depend on what you're looking for aside from "a fixed wood stock" as there's a lot of AK's that fit that category. Is there anything more specific you're looking for? Or can you post a picture of what you like that might allow us to narrow down the selection further?

I said it to another guy here, I want an arsenal that was the point of this thread. I wanted to change the stock of an arsenal if there was any way to if not then I'd continue looking.

This is the one I was referring to http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=F1ASLR10731&name=Arsenal+SLR-107FR+7.62x39+Rifle&search=slr

This one I found IS interchangeable but I'm not sure if it's any good if any of you know.  https://www.atlanticfirearms.com/component/virtuemart/shipping-rifles/arsenal-sam7r-milled-7-62x39mm-rifl-detail.html?Itemid=0

Get any milled arsenal with fixed stock and just change out the plastic furniture for wood.

How about a wooden folding stock for the arsenal series?

I was in the same boat as you, OP.

I wanted a 107 but also wanted a traditional look, I ended up going with a pseudo-Afghan era AKS-74 look.

I would still prefer a fixed stock, but overall I'm happy.

That's for a 5.5mm rear trunnion, it won't fit Bulgarian rifles.

It'll work but the part of the butt that inserts into the trunnion is a little bigger, you can shave it to fit.

I have several butts fit to my Bulgarian AKS-74 rear trunnion, one being a Russian 5.5mm poly. The top cover will hold the thinner pin in place if you don't want to enlarge the pin hole and some grease will keep it from being too loose. 15 years and counting, still rock solid.

Look at photos 6 and 8 in the link below. you can see what would need to be done to make it fit. Keep in mind one of the questions asked is in regards to using a 5.5mm trunnion, not a 4.5mm. Another mentions slight differences in angles. I too remember this when I was fitting the polymer butt, it did have a tiny difference in the angle, again, not a problem when properly fit.

I was going to post this as well, it's really your only option when it comes to a wooden folder.

SLR107-11 is the answer.  I have been waiting to pull the trigger on an Arsenal AK for years but did not want a milled receiver (SAM7) and did want a side folder SLR107.....until now SLR107-11  Fixed stock, stamped.  Boom so excited.  I placed my order the day it was released.  should be any day now.  any day.
