Nope fake can.  I am thinking about making this into a SBR.

I am the second owner of this, just picked it up today.  Got it off a member here last week.  I think it was built by InRange.  Not sure, damn nice work though, wished my building skill were that good.  (I just got done building my first Romy G kit: see pic below) I am happy with it and I can't wait to go shoot it.  (both AK's) I will try to take some pics at dusk.....Flame Thrower is cool!

Congratulations, Instante!   Very nice.  I had my eye on that weapon for some time, but just couldn't swing it.

The wood on the Romy is phenomenal.  Did you refinish it yourself?

Gorgeous Instante! Sexy even. Hopefully, I'm next. I've wanted one for years. I still remember the first time I spied a Krink in one of the Pierce Brosnan Bond flicks. I was like, "OOOOH!!! WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!".

Thank you guys. I appreciate the compliments.

Yes, I refinished it myself.  It was really easy.

First off, the wood was in excellent condition because I got the kits from bocefus!  I cleaned them off as best I could before sticking them into the dishwasher for 2 cycles.  Then let them air dry for a week while I did other things for the build.  I them steel wooled the hell outta them. Getting down to the original stain, careful not to remove too much of it, just enough to lighten it up.  I then put 4 coats of Iodine directly on it and evened it out with my finger. (a little at a time works best, work it into the grain it will look really orangy, dont worry, it will look better as it dries.)  After it dried I used tung oil.  (about 10 coates with steel wool in between)  Thats it.!

Here are some more pics:

I took her out to the range, she ate 160 rounds of Wolf without a hitch.  Too bad that was my last 160 rounds....Sweet trigger, feels solid!  @ 25 yards, I pretty amazing groups.  @ 10 yard I had decent groups.  With the fake can the guys next to me said it was really loud.

semi-gloss alluma-hyde II from Brownell's. Turned out good.  I usually use the matte black.
