If you'd be happy with Romanian AKMs in outstanding condition, check out Bocefus' ad over at Gunco.net- the $89 "very good cond." kits are outstanding!

All I can say is that I received a great kit from DPH.

Of the kit's I've bought, Copes and the Ammunition Store shipped me the best ones.

Bocefus on FALfiles...no BS grading, guaranteed matching numbers kits.  He has a ton of the Romy kits in something like 5 grades: unissued, excellent, very good, good, and "rusty."  The bores on all of them are excellent, wera is rated mainly on the rest of the kit.

The Romanian Kits at AIM Surplus right now I'm not too impressed by. I order 2 from them and the wood is okay but was expecting a better looking kit. If you are buying a Romanian Kit the way to go is Tapco. Best kit out there.

Copes gets  my Vote.  The one I got has been praised upon by alot of people.  It's getting built on by Missouri Custom Armament, and Duke said it's the best his seen.

Scott at DPH arms has the cleanest kits I've seen and has one of the best non-bullshit services around! up front , honest and on time always! AAAA++++!

Copes has sent me 5 kits and all looked unissued!  I've found DPH Arms to be anything but fast.

Picked up two v.g. romy Gs from bocefus on falfiles, excellent shape, cheap shipping even to Hawaii.  Took the wick out of the barrels, the bores looked virginal.

Anyone got a recent SA-85 kit from Centerfire?  I got an AMD-63 kit in August 04 from them and am using it for a MpiKm build, want a similar to do a Kms build.

I have always had good luck with the kits from Cope's.  I just ordered two rommy kits from AIM and they both look like they have been burried in the ground for years. Both are very dirty and one is very pitted with rust. I have seen much better kits around. The best kit I got was a rommy kit from Cheaper than Dirt. It was more expensive but it was  just about new condition.

Thanks!

I'm also tempted by the Romy kits but need to finish my nefarious and evil plans ;)

Tapco Kits are beautiful looking. The one I got from them looked unfired and the wood and finish was the best quality out of all the Romie's I have ordered.

cool... looks like my friend and i are debating the ak stuff now. sence kalifornia registration on the recevers is only as a "class 3" aw . so it has to have a fixed mag or no features that make it "evil"..... man i swear the cali doj is a bunch of bitches....

Hate to be a purist, but you should use the 63 to build a 63!  That is a rare kit in itself

Was a $99 kit when I got it. No trunnion markings save a # makes for a good kit.

I don't really like the AMD-63 ;)
