I am having difficulty deciding between a Chris Butler built
Ak-103 with the Saiga receiver or an Arsenal SLR-1051AR.
Two different calibers and Bulgarian vs Russian.
Any input is appreciated.
thanks

Chris Butlers artwork is outstanding.

I've had the same decision earlier. I'm going for the AK-USA AK-103/104 myself.

Good taste regardless of what you choose.

I vote AK-103

Arsenal SLR-105...  That way you could have Chris build you a -103 later!

Spooky

Robert I agree with what Templar said.  Get the SLR 105 while  you can.

Did you ever get the Krinkov built?

Now, now...  I didn't say Chris's work is bad or anything like that - I just hinted at what Templar said later...

Oh, and here is what Chris can do with an SLR105 and a Russian Krink demilled kit...

Spooky

I have to agree... Get both! But get the SLR-105 first because they won't be around too much longer.

Get both...BUT, send the SLR to Chris for conversion to an AK74M with a Russian side folder stock

I went the other way though. I bought the 103 first and just yesterday bought the SLR105...now off to Chris it will go

I just bought an SLR-105 A1 R and am sending it to Chris to be refinished (getting rid of the crappy Bulgie finish). Best of both worlds...or something. Anyway, the 105 will be gone soon and may or may not be made again. So if you want a real 74 this is a simple choice. 103s based on Saiga recievers can be had later...they aren't going anywhere. I find the 74 type rifles to be just a bit sexier as well, just my opinion.

Thanks to all that replied. Info I didnt know about the stopping of
production on the SLR-105 came out.
So that's the way I am going.

OK I promise if the Boss and funds allow
Both are apparantly great rifles so any decision is
a good one.
Thanks for your help
