Guys I want to just lighty clean up a Rommie stock set. I don't want to strip it or anything. I just want to get rid of that dull look the stock has. I have heard you can Steel wool with alittle BLO in it and get a nicer shine out of a stock. Its a laminate type with the donkey dick front end. I think I will give it a try tomorrow. WarDawg

I'd strip it with furniture stripper and steel wool, and then go with the BLO. What you'll end up with will look great.

I'd try one of those green scrubbie pad deals before I use steel wool.

I don't know how to highlite other posts, but if you go back to 08/02/2005, a post by tapeo1 on refinishing a set of romy wood. Man they look great! The best description of romy wood is "firewood", but tapeo1 showed they can be made better. I tried it and my romy wood came out a lot better than it had been.

WarDawg, where ya been?
Here's a couple AK's I've built so far. I plan to send the Romy to Salbo after I test fire it, but the rain has kept me from the range the last 2 weekends. We gotta hook up again and get some trigger time in.
