I know there are a few varieties that have been shipped in 30 rnd boxes.....The vast majority come in 20's though...Is there any explanation for this?

For the same reason that hot dogs come 10 in a package and buns come 8 in a package, so you'll have to buy 80 40 of each to make them come out even ...

At least with ammo you only have to buy 3 boxes to fill 2 mags ...

EDITED: For poor math skills ...

Seems like Wolf has been pretty responsive to market demands...Wonder if we could get them to make some runs in 30 rnd boxes for convenience.

How about 150 round range box's? Figure the more they can put into one box the cheaper it would be in packaging.

wow some of you really suck at math.

4 ten-packs of dogs = 40 dogs
5 8-packs of buns = 40 buns.

sheesh.

The 3/4 case of Uly 5.45 ammo that came with my -74 clone came in 25 rnd boxes.

7.62x25 mil-surp ammo seems to either come in 40 rnd boxes (5 Czech 8 rnd stripper clips) or 70 rnd boxes (Yugo, Polish, ChiCom...).
The 70 rnd boxes make sense in that the most 7.62x25 subguns use either 70 rnd drums (PPSh41) or 35 rnd stick mags (PPS43 & Yugo M-56).

Aren't you supposed to use 20 round mags for ammo that comes in boxes of 20?
I thought the BATF had regs about that!

You could make them like the ink cartridges one use mags! Once you empty the mag the follower locks up and cannot be reset they send them back for reload you could call them "Green Mags" they would be environmentally friendly mag!
Get the environmental nuts to sing their laurels too cool!

You can use my idea for a portion of the profits

If they don't yet, don't worry as they're probably workin' on it.

Actually, the "ink cartridge" mag idea would be perfect for areas where you didnt want the enemy recovering your dropped magazines for their own use.

However, cost would probably dictate that it would be impractical.

Besides, quit giving the anti's more ideas....

yeah, as if you actually DROP and LEAVE your empties and then run 100yards backwards so that they can run up to your mag, load it and fire back at you.

Packaging dogs in 10's and buns in 8's is smart considering it causes APACHE to buy 80 of each!! They knew they'd get someone!!!

Haven't you guys ever heard of hot dog threesome where there's two wieners and only one set of buns?

It may hark back to the early days of the M16 which originally was issued with 20 rd magazines. One box of ammo = one full magazine. I have vague recollections many years ago in a far distant land M16 magazines being delivered pre loaded by the crateful. Did't last long (being delivered pre loaded). Then came the 30 rd magazines, had to stay up with the Ruskies, you know.

preloading 20 round AR magazines is why AK ammo comes packaged in boxes of 20?

Now thats about one weiner too many, but I've always been kinda partial to the hotdog threesome with one weiner and two sets of buns!

Of course I always got in trouble for paying more attention to one set of buns than the other.

So you don't have to use all your fingers and toes everytime?
