About three years ago at a fun show, i held an ak47 i should have bought. I think it was Hungarian, but i could be wrong. It had a milled receiver a heavy barrel, a gas block at the port, wood furniture, and 7.62. I have searched for this variant, but have never seen another.

Any ideas?

Sounds like an SLR100H. They were made on Hungarian parts kits with Bulgarian receivers.
