I have a dark brown bakelite grip.  The seem where the 2 halves meet is kind of a lighter and non smooth.  Has anyone seen one of these before?  I am tying to figure out what era it is.   Thanks!

Yes,are there any numbers on the side toward the top?

If it looks like these then it's just where they smoothed out the mold marks.  I don't think it is indicative of any particular time period though, just indicative of when the particular mold they were using was getting worn and letting too much flash form on the grips.

That is exactly it.  Thanks.  I have two, one that does have it and the other does not.  I guess the one that does is an older mold.
