I've got a set of used Soviet plum hg's, I want to clean them up, kinda polish out the scratches so the go better with a new us grip. Any body got any tricks or techniques for making them shine?

Thanks

Man,thats a tough one,the exterior of my Russian plumb handguards is rough,as opposed to smooth. On FAL handguards and pistol grips,I've had alot of luck in steel wooling the rough and painted areas then using tung oil on them.

I think I'll use some real fine steel wool, give them a polish. I might dull down the new pg to match. That might work. Gotta make the new and the old match ya know!
