I was looking at my Tokoi book on the AK when I noticed something interesting. It was shown with what appears to be an Italian made variant of the Galil. It is a mag well adapter that allows one to use AR-15 mags in the weapon. So my questions are as follows:

Will this work in any 5.56 chambered AK?

Are they available? And where can I get one?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Galil/AR15 mag adapters don't work in standard AK's. They are still available, I sold a couple on the EE last summer for about $100 ...

Could a gunsmith alter it to work, or is that out of the question?

It's just not designed for the standard AK, look at a Galil receiver and you'll see the differance in design ...

You can get anything you want for enough money.

And that is not a smart-ass comment.
