State of Washington prohibits SBRs. Only way it could be done is as a pistol.

Ahh... the irony.

The SEAK is more expensive than the SEBR.

I agree, this "can" is better.

Not to rain on the parade or anything, but I think a regular AK would have been cheaper and a lot more guys would be interested in it. Fake cans and all just arent a lot of guys thing. Me included. Just my 2 cents. I still havent made up my mind though.

I don't want to be a shithead either but I agree with you. Those Yugo Krinks are very nice but they are a bit odd. I was thinking something like...

$100 Romanian parts kit + any goodies with kit
$80 Armory stamped receiver (w/selector markings) (1 US part)
$90 Romanian or Ironwood laminated furniture
$40 US FCG (3 US parts)
$25 US Gas piston (1 US part)
$15 US slant brake (1 US part)

That's about $350 in materials, I'm sure bulk discounts could be gotten. Wood does come with the kits so that remains a question. I bet Tom Sawyer Mfg. can do professional Romanian clone engraving on the receivers. Z-Recto can do the stocks.

My numbers come out to around $570 including labor for this Romanian clone example.

Just a thought.

Very true. But at $100 a kit, I'm sure a lot of people - such as myself - have plenty Romy kits that will be built to very similar if not the exact specs you mention. What we don't have is the more expensive mint Krink kit, not to mention how back logged the good builders are right now. This gives us the complete package --- by the end of the year no less.

Keep all of these things in mind. We can do a less expensive rifle or pistol next time. Also We do not do Pay Pal. We will be taking Money orders or credit cards with a 3% charge. The order forms should be up on the web site in a couple of weeks. It will have all of the payment and time line details.

Can this be ordered direct as a SBR?

Thanks,

Mike

We contemplated that, but decided in order to keep it quick and simple we chose not to.  It's easy to SBR after you receive it.

Well, I am a Class III.  If it came as a SBR, there'd be no tax.  If I did a Form I, it'd be a $200.00 tax.

I do understand the need to keep it simple, though.  (I've run group buys on other boards, and the more options you offer the messier it gets.)  At the same point, one less tax is a good thing.

Please let me know if any plans change and you'd be willing to sell them done as a SBR.

Thanks,

Mike

Unfortunately you are right.  I am still thinking about it, but would SBR it first thing.

I'd prefer the option of having it SBRed up front so I don't have to have
my name engraved on it.

The fake can doesn't float my boat at all.........

Yes, we will build these as an SBR for the same price. Just remember once it's registered on a form two it is a hassel to change it back. We will have a spot on the order form for this.

Looks like we are going to have enough to make it a go. If we don't get 50 orders they will be engraved accordingly 1 of 35  1of 40 etc. We still have time so think about it. Yes we will do a std. rifle next time.
