Are there any negative effects to leaving AK mags fully loaded for extended periods of time - like the spring being weakened??? I know that a 1911 mag can be left fully loaded for many years, and still function 100%, so...

I have kept new mags fully loaded for up to six months with no hiccups.... I keep a set of four in the bug out bag fully loaded at all times. One of those sets century had on sale a while back in new condition in a mag pouch for 29.00

Maybe after years of storage,, the spring might become week...that spring steel used is some pretty tough material..

The example of the 1911 springs is the rule rather than the exception. Springs don't die from being constantly compressed (or stretched). They die from being cycled.

I left 8 fully loaded mags in my truck for over a year. They all fired with no problems.
