Anyone out there making RPK/RPK-74's?

Dunno why, but I have the RPK bug at the moment...guess I watched a little too much Red Dawn

I've seen some pre-ban ones floating around, but christ! Expensive for an AK! (Not that my Norinco Underfolder wasn't pricy enough...)

I've got some AK drum mags on the way...it'd be nice to mate them to what they were designed for

Good luck finding an Arsenal Inc. RPK-7. They made 300 of them, and no more coming in 7.62x39mm.

They are running upwards of $1K now.

Arsenal Inc. will be making a run of 5.56mm RPK's though.

They only made 300 RPKs? I thought that was the AK Classic they did a special run on.

Somewhere around here is a post by ORF for their RPK for sale, $750 if I recall but not with the club rear stock.

Arsenal Inc. made 250 Classic's and 300 RPK's.

Both were limited editions, with no plans for any more of either model to be made.

They will make a 5.56mm RPK, but I don't know how many yet.

I was at my local "fun shop" today and they had one (Ak-47). I have to say it was sweet!! IIRC it was about $900. Man what wood was nice. I almost bought it but then I remembered I have to pay the morgtgage next month.

Is the Barrel thicker then the normal Arsenal Ak's, I.e., the SAM-7...I ask because it looked like it was, but the barrel is so long it may have just been a illusion?

But man was that thing SWEET!!!

Evil_ED, K-VAR is curently selling this Bulgarian RPK-74 kit with the Russian Plum stock set. It is a bit on the spendy side at $799, but it sure is sweet. I believe that the Russian RPK Plum stock is made in the US.

I have been watching this item for a while hoping that it would go down in price,but it is more than I want to spend.

Just another option.

Yah, I saw K-Var's RPK74 kits, but...I want one in 7.62. Have to use my drums on SOMETHING

Besides...to me, there's something more...I dunno..powerful? about the older RPK. I just like it better, for some reason. It stands out more; makes more of a statement. To me, anyway...

BTW, the plum stocks are not US, they are Russian/Bulgarian made. The picture shown of the 'twins' are my buddy's "timkel", one in each caliber....that's the way to go!
