What are the sources for magazines/ammo for the 5.45x39?
Are there drum mags available?

No drums, but lots and lots of mags! $10 or $11 off K-var, but Im sure they can be found cheaper in other places. I'll look for some others.

JG Sales is at least West for shipping, and the main importer for Barnaul (PW if I recall correctly) is in your state.

rpbusa.com for good used E Ger bakelights for $5 each

I know the Russians made a experimental drum for the RPK-74, as far as I know it never went any further. I'm not sure if any other countries experimented w/ drums for the 74 series.

Try K-Var and Northridge for mags.

I just received 8 new East German bakelites from Northridge in packs with strippers, guide, cleaning kit, and what looks like a blank adapter. Everything was wrapped in paper and is brand new.

Should be $24.99 Each and $7.50 for Shipping for 2 packs
They ship slow, but worth the savings.
Last order took about 4 weeks.

Northridge is the place for 74 mags, I got a few sacks sitting in the closet unopened. They are probably the best as far as 74 bake mags go for a good price, dang, Now Im thinking about getting more. But Im so split, I want more waffles also.

How long did you guys have to wait for your Northridge EG mag sets? I ordered a set Sept 26, got a e-mail saying the PPS43 mag I also ordered was out of stock Sept 30 & have yet to see any mags. I don't remeber them being this slow when I last ordered from them.

I get my AK-74 mags from these guys. NIW, very fast shipping, 2 days to my door. They are bakalites, but I prefer them anyway. www.oldgunsupply.com/Magazines.php?id=279&PHPSESSID=d1bde45d2761fe573f4b897d03a19e8c

Theyre slow sometimes, i know, but worth the wait. I think the longest I waited was 3-4 weeks for some.

What are AK-47 (yes, I said 47) bakalite mags worth? I found some in a local gun store the other day when I picked up my new SARs. I first thought they where for the 74, but would not fit. Then I tried them in the 47 and Viola!
