I asked this question long ago, but maybe someone has tried it since.  I'm trying to remove the front sight assembly on my SKS.  I've driven the two pins out, but I can't seem to get the sleeve to slide off.  Has anyone ever removed a front sight assembly in this fashion? Any seggestions short of cutting it off?

Jeez, that sounds beyond my means. I guess if I need to remove it, I'll have to cut it off....

How about an AK? Same deal? I mean, once you drive out the pins, is it an interference fit? I have a two-jaw gear puller that I'm sure will take it off, and I know just enough to take a small punch and index the sight base before removing anything - the rifle shoots great as is.
