I just got a POSP 6x42 scope, and it doesn't seem to want to go on my Krebs without a huge fight. It goes about half-way, then it won't budge without serious persuasion (read hammer blows). What's the deal here? Both the mount and the scope are Russian, so what gives?

Those look different from the clamp on the POSP.  It's the standard AK clamp; is that different then a Saiga clamp?

Well, thanks for the help.  Unfortunately there seems to be no adjustment system in this mount.

You're a nut on the pivot shaft of the.... sorry, couldn't help it.  I'm looking, but I'm still confused. What does it mean when you remove the locking lever assembaly completely and it still doesn't fit?

Assuming you have pivoted the dimpled plate and slipped it to the big-hole side and off the end of the center screw, and then lifted the lever off to expose the screw.. turn the screw the same direction you would normally move the lever to take it off the gun. You can now turn it more than 1/2 turn, thus opening the gap in the silver part of Rot's pic above.
Otherwise, we can type some more :)
