Got another dumb question - I had been considering having my AK's built locally, just because I'd like to have them here, but after more questions to the gunsmith, and emailing Todd at Ohio Rapid Fire, I'll probably be having them do my builds.

My question is, I'll ship the stuff to ORF.  No problem, they're an FFL.

When they return them, will they have to go to an FFL, or can they return directly to me, since I've already gone through the transfer paperwork?

Was just curious if I had to deal with the fee AGAIN, as well as the stupid ATF form, or what.

An FFL can ship gunsmithing work back to the address they receive from. No need to ship to an FFL. A build is considered gunsmithing as long as the customer supplied the serialized receiver.

Gotta love Mike... he is Johnny-on-the-spot with all your firearms answers...  Now get back in the shop you Century-monkey reject and build me my rifle!
