Met with the ATF on the FAL yesterday. Very nice officer. Took the time to show me the
reports and documentation on the Interordenance issues, I was his second pick up of the day on a IO kit. Just took the little part and left me the kit. He was very nice and left me with a very good impression of the Jeff City office of the ATF. Here is the paper work on the transaction.  Ken Roberts RSA |

An interesting note...
Damn near every FFL / Class III dealer I have talked to lately has had good experiences with the ATF for the past 5 years. Most of the real horror stories are from before then. Just over 5 years ago was when Unintended Consequences was published. Cooincidence? Of course, it could have as much or more to do with the new administration - but it sure does seem to have died down before 2001. |

agents stopped by a dealer friend a few days ago (cleveland, ohio office) looking for fal kits he had purchased from interordnance.
the kits were sold at gunshows and my friend kept no record of the sales...no reason to, as the kits were not considered "firearms" as sold to him. those kits are now long gone and untraceable. i would assume this is the case on a percentage of the receiver recoveries. |
