To bad we cant get some E. German MPi-AKS-74NK kits, would save a lot of trouble. Unlike the Russian Krinkov, The East German 5.45mm shorty used a full length gas tube. The E. Germans also used that same Gas Block on the 5.56mm Wiegers.

Weren't there some Poly-Tech shorties (bbl./kit assys.) around? (A few years back) I'm sure I saw some in SGN...

Yep there were some Polytech shorty front ends for sale in SGN a few years back. Someone on the other AK board was just selling one.

KVAR has the actual Gas block.

I just got an OD stocked AK-104 from AK-USA that uses that Bulgarian block. Yes, the ASD variant is nice, but most of us can't touch that one. I've got one that is legal for most everyone and can be SBR'd once the assault ban is done.
