I had several of my AK's parkerized last week. The rear sight was not removed and the spring is caked with sand from the sandblasting.

I've never removed the rear sight and can't figure out how to remove the rear sight. Can anyone explain the procedure to me?

Take your rifle and place it on the floor resting on the pistol grip and barrel or place the reciever on the corner of a table. Then stand your rear site straight up or vertical to the site block then press down and slide out.You should use a glove or towel seeing it takes a firm amount of pressure to release the site blade. You can remove the spring by sliding it forward with a small punch or needle nose pliers. It may take ya a try or two but it's really a piece of cake when ya get the hang of it.
