After 1,000 rounds of bump firing this weekend
at the Hun farm shootout. My trigger gave out.

What happened was that it became very rough and hard
to pull. Now its a bit smoother but when its
not engaged, its rubbing against the first bar
that runs across the receiver within the trigger
group.
If viewed from above with the cover off, there is
a bar (small piece of steel)that the first stage
of the trigger hits.

I don't know how to explain it very well.

Has anything like this happened to any of you guys ?
This was the bump fire master for me.

I've hard parts in a SAR rifle become "unattached" on the inside.  A lot of time the were put in half assed by CIA.  My advice is to pull all the fire control parts out and put them back in correctly.

I was gonna get the redstararms fire control group
system in there any way at some point. I just need to
brush up on my knowledge of it better.
I guess now is as good a time as any to go ahead
now and get it.
Can you tell me about it a little more ?
Will it make the trigger pull smoother ?
By adjustable, does that mean I can adjust it to
be a two pound trigger ?

Thanks

The Red Star FCG has a really smooth pull with a crisp repeatable let off. It can be adjusted for a single stage or 2 stage trigger pull. The trigger pull weight can be adjusted BUT, RSA does not recommend setting up the trigger pull wieght any lighter than 3 1/2 lbs. In actuality a 4 lbs trigger that is smooth will feel a lot lighter than it really is. If your going to get the RSA FCG i would reccommend that you order the FCG retainer plate that takes the place of the sheppards hook also.It makes installation of the FCG a breeze.

Trigger has 4 adjustments. Pull, overtravel, weight, and single/two stage. No need for locktite (allen adj) after a case thru mine set at about 4lbs single stage. As good a feel as any AR trigger I have fondled (Bushy, Colt, RRA, Jewell, Armalite).
