Ok, so I got my sling and this makes me sad because I absolutely HATE it.
So, I compared the one I got to the pictures here, and assuming the proportions on most AK's are the same, the one I got was not configured the same. The proportions seem ALL wrong for its intended use, it only has 13" of adjustment and 42" of "tail" which IMHO is totally backwards and renders it useless for carrying a slung rifle tight enough not to flop around and being able to safely transition to shooting it in several 2 and 3 gun matches. Putting this sling on short enough to keep it from flopping during vigorous movement means I cannot loosen it enough to be able to, for example transition from my back to a shooting position. If I set it up loose enough to be able to manipulate the rifle at all, then it will not tighten up enough to be stable.
So, I called customer service hoping that maybe I was doing it wrong somehow, or maybe I ordered or got shipped the wrong size or something, and things went even further awry. I tried starting off asking about the relative lengths of the adjustment vs the tail, but the guy that answered the phone was a total snot. In his defense, there isn't much he could do other than tell me to return it, but, well, he even decided to try to argue with me, that the dimensions are totally proper and normal. Maybe they are right for someone 5'2" and 100#, but for me I just could not make it work.
Thus, I am a failure and I have to do the return walk of shame...
But I suppose good news for the next person that wants one and thought they were OOS.
