I bought a Tapco stock to try to duplicate the folding mechanism in aluminum on a mill, but I never got around to it. In the meantime, I sprayed it black ( they sent me the sand colored one when I ordered black).

It turned out pretty good, but I don't think the finish would hold up very well.

Yeah I've done it. It will wear off with time. Here's a progression. Granted it's on a Glock that I carry, but you can sill see what it'll look like eventually (minus the stippling of course).

Yeah, just fittted a romy laminate stock to a chicom AK setup that already has the UTG rail w/Aimpont M2 and OD green PG, never cared for the lightening cut on the K-var OD stock so I finally got tired of looking at it and swapped it out. Still curing the paint (I used alumahyde II on it).

Doesn't look bad but there is a bit of a difference in the color of the paint VS. the plastic PG and rail covers, and rail.

ETA: for the purists ....The chicom used was a former BFPU that someone beat the living shit out of with keys on the end of a chain (was told this by the shop owner who sold it originally and then took it back in trade from the original owner) so I had it re-blued. And since the wood was beat all to hell as well .....
