 My old AK74. I bought this as a new Arsenal SLR104 for around a grand in 2016 and remember picking up those 45 round bakes for $60 each. Ended up getting tired of 5.45 and sold the whole rig in 2020. Extremely fun gun to shoot though - back when you could still get tins of 7n6 for $200 |

After a very very very long absence from the AK world-my last AK was in 1993 and that was a Norinco double underfolder that I stupidly sold- I have picked up a Zavasta

I've got my 1st AK enroute to my FFL and am going to the field for the next 3 weeks.
I feel like back when I was a kid and had to wait a month for a mail order GI Joe to arrive. |

It came with their reverse dong lower hand guard, and a cheese grater upper hand guard. They do have a Romanian kit build under folder that I looked at pretty hard. But I decided I wanted the straight, AKMS style stock, over the angled AKS style on the Romanian guns. It looks straight, and everything fits well. The only thing that looks ugly is the bolt cam path cut in the bolt carrier, but it hand cycles smoothly. Took the rod to work, chucked it up in a collet on a lathe then turned/chamfered .03” off each side. Hit it with some black enamel spray paint and now it fits like it should. PSA 103 is finished. This one had the same issue that most seemed to have early on, a bent gas piston was hanging up on the ultimak.
