Have any of you guys mounted a ACOG on your AK47s? If so please tell me how you did it.

I'm thinking of mounting a TA11E on my AK47.

For around $50-90, there are several makers of weaver rails that use the side rail bracket. The ACOG could then go there. Not the only source, but KVAR has some examples.

That would be an expensive $300 rifle.

So you're saying you've never done it. Well, if not the ACOG then what? I want optics for my AK. What do you guys reccomend?

any of these www.nightvisionweb.com/ak_svd_scopes.htm or these tantal.kalashnikov.guns.ru/optics1.html

A kobra red dot (see tantal's page) would be the best non magnified optic. other than that, look into the PSO scopes. A nice 4x24 goes for $99 on nightvisionweb.com

A Commie gun deserves a Commie scope (oh, sorry, they're not Commies anymore, are they? )

Tantal's the place - Kobra/EKP (red dot) or PSO (magnified).

You have to e-mail them for a current price list (they e-mail it back to you.)
