Looking for info on these most modern of AK-74M magazines. They have the mold number 50 on the left side and Izhmash arrow-in-triangle on the right hand side.

Where can I find these?

heres pics.

Looks like a Russian plum mag that is painted black. I have a few of them. Mine have the 50 on them too. I paid 20 each for mine but I can not remember were from. I wanted mine the right color plum so I took some #00 and #000 steel wool to mine to get the paint of of them. K-var these are used russian plum mags for good price with the markings or unsanitized. Here and HERE It was Dan's were I picked mine up from.

tantal told me I got the wrong one..............

thanks.

AK74M or whomever put these photos, and they do look right. but these are the 2nd latter of two plum designs........the darker. with lot/mold #50....

True Blacks are still a mystery to me then I guess
And tantal is out, and expects no more...............

Looks like a true black modern (late 90s to today) AK74M magazine.

Only way to get one really is luck of the draw with standard plum mags. When you will find the mag itself for sale, people will jack up the price.. For example, Tantal had them for $700 for a 4 pack.

There are other mold numbers besides 50.

Is the OTK stamping Russian or Bulgarian?
Is it an approval stamping of some sort? I have what I thought were Bulgarian dropcases that have OTK stamped on the inside flap.

Also what do you guys know about the Bulgarian 74 mag with a 25 mold # with a single circle around it with a M or H silver inkstamp in the upper corner? I got some of these in great condition and have never seen these markings on a Bulgy mag.
Thanks

Here is mine after I used the steel wool on them U can see how black it was in the feed lip area and near the base plate. Mine were indentical to the ones in the pics above in question. One way to find out is just use some 000 steel wool on them.

Woah!

Were they painted by the Russians? Or dyed?

Could I dye the regular plum ones? With what product?

any info?

Hey Stottman, What about the .223 mags that Andrei is selling. They are 5.45 mags converted to .223 for the Sagia M4 but are low cap could you swap the follower and make it hi cap and it then would be a true black 5.45 mag right?
Link Posted: 2/20/2006 7:21:32 PM EDT
nope. They are mold 50 mags if what Andrei says is true....

I thought of the same thing.....

Why do you think all mold #50's are black?

I have 2 mold 50 mags that are the dark plums, and a mold 48 + mold 49 that are truely black (not plums painted black).

I really am just trying to understand what it is that you are looking for. Here are the mags that I have. The newer black ones are mold number 48 & 49. These particular older plum ones are mold 50.

Further understanding these.................

Asked Andrei about the mags the other day and he posted some new pics they have the number "150" on them. It kind of looks painted but his auction says this. "You are bidding on new original Russian made 10 rd. black plastic magazine for Saiga .223 rifles. Converted from AK-74 5.45x39 30 mag, by replacing the spring follower (to fit .223 caliber) and have a metal capacity stopper, which allow to load up to 10 rounds. We are sure, that this can be superb replacement part and will make the Saiga .223 looks like exactly as AK-100 series assault rifle."
