got my 30 mags in today from centerfire

they are all croatian mags, marked with "made in croatia" and a maple leaf stamp on the exterior body of the magazine

I test fitted them in a romanian SAR 1, romanian AES10B, russian SGL21, bulgarian SLR107, and also a bulgarian SLR107UR

none of the the thirty mags would lock into any of the five rifles

edit: they appear to be very close to fitting, I am going to try and hit the rear lug with a file to make them fit

Very odd considering that they're being sold as "used" when the Croatian mags are new production.

This whole thing looks like very misleading advertising.

I got 6, all croatian as well, only two have minor fitment issues; these were checked in a Chinese Type 56S and a Bulagrian SA-93.

have you tried hand cycling rounds through them?

I have numerous mags that repeatedly cause misfeeds and double feeds... using the same rifles but polish surplus, or bulgarian ((10)) mags, no issues

Willing to bet you already sadly know what is coming in from them.

From the other site for AKs so far everyone who has ordered from this has also gotten nothing but Croatians.

Yup....

All Croatian.  Only time to visually inspect.  Get around to locking and cycling them this weekend.

ETA:  None of the 10 Croat mags would lock in my Bulgy.  All 10 of the Croat mags DID lock in my Romy and hand cycled fine.  hmmmm.....

I got some from AIM, refurb polish mags, the paint is a little thick on them, I had to sand a little off on the tops to get a perfect fit. Very nice for the money overall.

The M3 Magpul's (unlike the MOE) are metal reinforced.

I am pretty new to AK-74 mags, are these East German "Bakelite" mags good to go?
I know the Russian ones are supposed to be the bee's knees, but I havn't found much in regards to the E-German models.

Thanks for the reply, I ordered some Russian-Plums already, never had an AK-74 before. Going to give these E-German mags a chance too.

I bought a few of the Magpuls - they seem to work okay for me.  $12 delivered from Aim, no minimum order.

The cheap Korean mags received bad reviews, and the good surplus mags (Hungarian) were twice the price.

Hungarians, nothing else worth buying.

ETA: Not hard at all to make a 20 rounder from a 30 rounder, google it as there are several tutorials out there on how to do it.

While I've never used any of the Korean mags, the 20-rounders are supposedly perfectly serviceable. Tapco AK mags are actually pretty decent.
