Just did a count and I have 35 30rd 7.62x39 mags and 6 75rd drums for all three of my AK's, whats a good mag to weapon ratio? I try for at least 10 mags per assult rifle and at least 5 or more for simi auto percision rifles.

Please dont stomp on an AK newbie But will you guys really use all these mags .dont understand why some people need 100+ or even 50 mags. wouldnt 4 mags last almost half a life time? Again please dont flame me too bad im new to the game.

I don't know how old you are but most of us were around for the days of the 94-04 AWB and NEVER want to be in that situation again.

I don't have anywhere near what most of these guys have, but I like to have about 10 per rifle. |

I understand fine But 100++ mags kinda seems big time overkill ,these mags are almost indestructable. And im 41 and from the pre ban norinco,clayco,polytech days when the 4 mags they give you in the box last forever.

I only have 2 AKs. 4 range mags, 2 loaded in safe just in case, 2 empty in safe for rotation, 8 mags stashed and 1 drum.

Working on my stash.
Euro mags Pro-Mag's ( have worked well with my weapon and have been reliable ) Tapco Mag's ( had to alter the lugs a little bit, but work fine now ) 4 40rd Bulgi's ( heavy mod to the lugs, but work fine ) 1 Romanian drum. |

Heres my modest offering........so far
5 Izhmash bakelite 2 Tula Bakelite 1 Izhmash black polymer (AK-104) 2 Izhmash 10r black polymer 1 Romanian 10r waffle polymer 4 Chinese steel with working BHO (one of which appears to be all stamped with no steel sideplates and the rear latch is different........is that right???) 1 Korean steel (i think its Korean,flat grey in colour and no markings) 2 Romanian steel 1 Hungarian (?) steel and lastly a 75r Chinese drum

I am proud to be a mag whore.
Pmags for Ar 15 on ebay are basically $80. I have a M4 but I bought an AK before they decide the ban that beast of a weapon. I got a SGL 20 and I have 3 mags for that rifle. I have 23 pmags for my M4 though and I paid $10 a pop. |

29 thirties, 3 fourties. I have a 40 rnd Bakelite is on the way. I have four 75 round drums stashed away and I will probably get some 20s when we order my girlfriend's M92 PAP. |

I think ill show part of my collection.
200 east german ak mags and 10 circle 10's. 
Here is a box of 50 more unissued east german mags. I dont want to dump them out of the box because it would take forever to take a photo of all the mags. 
A stack of 25 Chinese flatback mags sitting on my safe. Its a fresh shipment and a loaded circle 10 and another east german mag. 
Thats not all of my mags either I still have 1 Chinese drum 1 Romanian drum 20 more circle 10's and probably 50 more steel mags somewhere. I think my mag count is around 320 to 350 i think. |

I honestly don't know how many AK mags I have, but I've been at this AK collecting thing for a while, so it's probably a lot.
This stuff has turned out to be a fantastic investment. I chalk part of it up to the typical liberal ban scares, but the better part of the rise in prices is the huge level of acceptance we're seeing for this platform here in the good ol' US of A. I remember when these rifles and the stuff that came with them were considered "commie junk" and everything was so cheap you fill trucks with it for a few hundred bucks. The good deals are much harder to find now, but I think the increased availability and growing popularity of the AK is something that helps us all in the long run. |
